Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred). Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, PowerBI). Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Experience with CNC machines. Knowledge of machining processes, particularly with aluminum. Familiarity with fixture design, gage design, and carbide & PCD tooling. Effective problem-solving abilities. Able to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Join us for a rewarding Co-op opportunity designed for Engineering students who are eager to enhance output and quality improvements while supporting production lines and identifying technical solutions for capacity and demand challenges. Below are some insights about Bosch North America (RBNA), our Charleston Automotive plant, and examples of typical assignments for our Co-op students:

  • Coordinate and identify problem-solving activities for equipment or process issues.
  • Communicate project status through operational and departmental management channels.
  • Develop software tools to enhance data transparency.
  • Create plans for production trials focusing on equipment quality, process improvement, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in training and documenting processes with hourly and salaried associates.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze production problems and their root causes.
  • Update machine drawings to enhance equipment robustness and stability.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation and quality plans in line with company standards, including Work Instructions, Control Plans, PFMEAs, and gage logs.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to improve the design of machining fixtures, gages, and robots’ grippers.
  • Assist in the development of workplace layouts and optimize material flow.
