Our extensive expertise spans over 70 categories, backed by a cutting-edge technology platform and a worldwide network of experts in 40 countries. Our selling categories encompass Contemporary and Modern Art, Impressionist Art, Old Masters, Chinese Art, Jewelry, Watches, Wine, and Spirits, as well as collectible automobiles and real estate through RM Sotheby’s and Concierge. Sotheby’s Financial Services stands as a top-tier art lender, having provided over $12 billion in loans since its inception. Our new global headquarters is situated at the iconic Breuer building at 945 Madison Avenue, New York City.

As the oldest and largest internationally recognized fine art auctioneer, Sotheby’s has been connecting collectors with extraordinary works of art since 1744.

This Autumn, we invite outstanding candidates at the graduate level or equivalent to join our unique 14-week paid Internship Programme.

The Sotheby’s Internship Programme aims to provide meaningful training experiences for those aspiring to build a career in the auction industry. Internships are available across various Specialist and Business sectors at Sotheby’s.

Interns will be assigned to departments aligned with their academic interests and career aspirations, working closely under the guidance of experienced staff members. Throughout the autumn auction season, interns will gain insights into the operations of a distinguished auction house, view remarkable rarities and artworks, and explore potential career paths within the industry. Additionally, interns will participate in regular seminars led by senior staff and collaborate on a group project to present to a panel of programme sponsors during the internship's final week.

Our Autumn 2026 Internship Programme will run from Thursday, 3rd September 2026 to Friday, 11th December 2026.
