About the job

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a premier global communications agency adept at navigating the intricacies of a hyper-connected world. We proudly represent a diverse array of icons and innovators who shape culture, from renowned multinational corporations and dynamic tech startups to impactful non-profits, creative visionaries, and trailblazing founders who define the global narrative.

Our expertise encompasses the full cultural spectrum. Operating at the confluence of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, we execute campaigns seamlessly across traditional media, social-first platforms, brand collaborations, and influencer ecosystems. Whether managing complex crises, amplifying advocacy initiatives, or launching global consumer brands, we are fundamentally storytellers.

We maintain a deliberately understated digital presence. While our clients are global household names, we believe the most impactful work occurs when the spotlight shines on those we represent. We operate under the radar by design, allowing our campaigns and results to speak for themselves.

If you are driven, purposeful, and eager to effect positive change, we want to hear from you!

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is currently seeking a strategic Account Director to join our Issue Advocacy practice in Washington, D. C. We are looking for a modern storyteller with a minimum of eight years of experience, established and trusted relationships with national and top-tier media, and a demonstrated ability to secure earned media coverage that shapes public discourse and drives tangible impact.

You recognize that progress in 2026 is forged at the intersection of policy, philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, corporate responsibility, and culture; and that complex ideas must be transformed into compelling narratives that resonate beyond the Beltway. You will develop incisive media strategies, lead proactive and rapid-response engagement with journalists, and consistently position clients in influential outlets and platforms across the nation.

Our D. C. office functions as a vital bridge, leveraging the full capabilities of our firm in Washington while bringing D. C. perspectives into national cultural, corporate, and creative dialogues. We assist clients outside of D. C. in navigating the policy landscape, while empowering D. C.-based leaders to break into mainstream media and broaden their influence. This role demands creativity, initiative, and strong story-mining instincts, along with the ability to craft clear narratives that drive sustained, proactive visibility. You will be just as comfortable advising a CEO or foundation president as you are pitching to a leading reporter, bringing steady counsel, high standards, and a deeply collaborative approach.
