As a key member of the finance team reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Executive is essential in overseeing the Accounts Payable function. This role involves ensuring the prompt and precise processing of supplier invoices, assisting with various accounting tasks, and preparing necessary financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate supplier invoices according to contracts and purchase orders.
- Secure appropriate payment authorization before processing vendor payments.
- Review and endorse invoice postings to ensure accurate entries in the general ledger.
- Prepare and manage payment batches to guarantee timely payments to suppliers.
- Analyze financial terms and conditions within supplier contracts, emphasizing any financial impacts.
- Issue sales invoices and ensure the swift collection of funds.
- Reconcile and maintain Aged Payables and Aged Receivables reports efficiently.
- Update and reconcile Fixed and Intangible Assets Registers with the General Ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Support external financial audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with additional tasks as assigned.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency in accounts payable processes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with other departments within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Progressing towards an ACCA qualification or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a finance-related role (experience in a regulated institution is an advantage).
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Familiarity with VAT principles.
- Experience in general ledger functions and month-end closing procedures.
- Proficient in financial software and accounts payable modules.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
