Join the vibrant Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Elmhurst University as an Adjunct Instructor for the course SW 303: Introduction to Social Work. This engaging class is set to commence in Fall 2026, held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:15 AM to 10:20 AM. We offer the potential for course renewal each semester, allowing you to make a lasting impact on our students.

Position Status: Exempt

Salary Range: The remuneration for this role ranges from $3,800 to $4,000 for teaching a standard 1.0 credit (4 semester hour) course. New part-time faculty begin at $3,800 (Adjunct Level 1).

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience teaching at the undergraduate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A PhD is preferred.

Working Conditions

This position primarily takes place in an indoor setting with minimal exposure to outdoor conditions. The role is largely sedentary, requiring prolonged periods of sitting. Essential skills include effective communication abilities (verbal and auditory), proficient vision for reading materials and screens, and fine motor skills for various tasks. The role may involve occasional lifting or moving objects up to 15 pounds.
