Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Basic understanding of aircraft weights and balance principles. Proficient in NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks. Knowledge of FAA Part 23 and 25 regulations. Desired Experience:Experience from kickoff through production programs. Involvement in rapid prototyping initiatives. Hands-on experience with composite construction. Experience in structural testing.

Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for a talented Aerospace Design Engineer specializing in weights to join our dynamic team in San Diego, CA. This role entails the CAD-based design and development of aircraft structures and systems throughout the design lifecycle, as well as overseeing and maintaining comprehensive vehicle weights analysis. You will be responsible for creating and sustaining vehicle-level weights analysis while ensuring effective integration among structures, systems, and manufacturing. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute from the conceptual design phase through detailed design and iterative processes to ensure the successful development of our aircraft.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Meticulously track, maintain, and lead vehicle-level weights analysis.
  • Utilize technical expertise in aircraft structural design and systems integration from concept to detailed design.
  • Create, update, and manage CAD models and technical drawings.
  • Develop intricate designs for composite parts suitable for manufacturing.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with manufacturing, systems, and analysis teams.
