Your Impact

In the role of Controllership AI & Automation Transformation Lead, you will spearhead and execute AI, analytics, and automation initiatives designed to enhance the speed, quality, and scalability of Controllership processes.

Your responsibilities will include managing specific projects and workstreams from inception to completion, collaborating closely with teams in Accounting, IT/Engineering, and Internal Audit to achieve measurable outcomes. This role entails facilitating discussions with process owners to identify current challenges, defining business requirements, and leveraging AI and automation tools to craft effective solutions. You will also engage with IT and data teams to empower process owners to develop their own solutions, as well as contribute directly by building solutions yourself.

What You’ll Do

Location: Boston, MA (flexible for other Axon hubs)
Reports to: Director, Chief of Staff (Controllership)

  • Establish the AI transformation roadmap for Controllership.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact automation and AI opportunities across Controllership processes such as Accounting Operations, Tax, Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, Revenue Accounting, and New Product Introduction.
  • Define project scope, requirements, and success metrics while constructing ROI cases (including hours saved, cycle-time reduction, error-rate reduction, and rework avoidance).
  • Collaborate with Finance Systems, IT, and Engineering to implement solutions leveraging automation, analytics, and AI/LLM-enabled tools (e.g., workflow automation, controlled LLM assistance for drafting/analysis, intelligent triage).
  • Develop and validate analytics (e.g., SQL-based checks, reconciliation logic, KPI dashboards) ensuring outputs are accurate, explainable, and auditable.
  • Communicate transformation results to leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive project execution, managing timelines, risks, dependencies, stakeholder updates, UAT coordination, rollout planning, and post-launch stabilization.
