The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) serves as a vital leadership role, aiming to cultivate the future leaders of our bakery operations. This position requires individuals to operate with the urgency, precision, and accountability expected of a Bakery Operations Manager (BOM), while simultaneously honing the leadership skills necessary for independent bakery management.

In this dynamic role, you will blend hands-on operational excellence with talent development, administrative oversight, and effective team leadership. As an ABOM, you will be a crucial extension of the BOM, capable of assuming full bakery ownership when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution
• Oversee all core bakery operations, including inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative tasks.
• Ensure strict compliance with product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and customer service standards.
• Assist in managing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and controlling shrinkage.
• Help create schedules and effectively execute labor to achieve operational goals.

Talent & Team Development
• Facilitate the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training processes for new staff members.
• Provide consistent coaching and immediate performance feedback to team members.
• Hold team members accountable to high standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure onboarding and training programs are executed in accordance with company standards.

Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.
• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify operational gaps and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain operational continuity during leadership transitions or staffing shortfalls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
• Ability to independently execute all BOM-level administrative and operational tasks.
• Bakery is fully staffed, well-trained, and meeting high operational standards.
• Strong culture of accountability and consistency within the team.
• Acts as a dependable operational leader during coverage scenarios.
• Displays clear readiness for advancement to a BOM role.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments.
