The Opportunity
Relation is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for an Associate Director of Data Engineering to spearhead our newly formed Data Platform team. As we enhance our scientific and machine learning capabilities, we find ourselves at a critical juncture, scaling our data processing infrastructure to meet the demands of our ambitious research agenda. Our Data Platform serves as a vital enabler within our system, integrating cutting-edge wet and dry labs to deliver groundbreaking biological insights and real-world impact.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Define and refine Relation's comprehensive data platform strategy in collaboration with colleagues across Labs, Engineering, Data Science, and Machine Learning.
Approach the data platform as a product, ensuring it consistently meets the needs of Relation's engineers and scientists.
Lead, recruit, and nurture a high-performing team of Data Engineers.
Oversee the end-to-end flow of data from laboratory instruments to our information processing systems.
Optimize and manage scientific compute pipelines using Nextflow and the Seqera Platform to guarantee scalability and reproducibility.
Establish data governance standards and ensure all information assets are maintained effectively.
