We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Associate Director of Security to join our specialized Security and Technology Engineering team at AECOM. This pivotal role offers you the chance to influence the design and execution of groundbreaking construction initiatives across major cities in Europe and beyond.
The AECOM Security & Technology Engineering team operates as a dedicated unit within the Building Engineering division, providing expert Security and Technology design and support services that enhance the overall project delivery of our building engineering teams.
Our Buildings Engineering team comprises approximately 400 skilled engineers engaged in large-scale construction endeavors, focusing on various project specializations in London and internationally. We cater to diverse sectors including significant commercial developments, extensive mixed-use projects, critical national infrastructure, among others.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee advanced technical and strategic security engineering services throughout the RIBA project stages for new builds and fit-outs, which include:
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, devising mitigation strategies, and drafting operational requirements.
- Leading master planning initiatives from city-wide frameworks to detailed mixed-use developments.
- Designing robust physical security measures, which encompass electronic locking systems, wall structures, glazing, doors, barriers, and fencing.
- Creating advanced electronic security designs for video surveillance, access control, intruder detection, and intercom systems.
- Offering counter-terrorism consultancy, including expert advice on Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), bomb blast protection, and ballistic considerations (in collaboration with specialists).
