Position Overview:
As an Associate Engineer on our Rail Water Resources team, you will engage in a range of engineering tasks centered on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for Class I Railroad projects. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development of foundational plans, preparing technical documentation, reviewing CAD designs, and securing necessary permits at local, state, and federal levels for water resource projects. This position plays a vital role in generating innovative ideas and crafting high-quality designs to meet our engineering needs successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create small-scale design elements for engineering projects using foundational knowledge and established techniques for projects of varying sizes.
- Assist in basic plan production while receiving guidance on specific tasks.
- Develop and leverage expertise in design and modeling software.
- Contribute to the preparation of project documentation and timelines, and execute design calculations within a defined scope.
- Conduct research, propose solutions, and draft technical reports using established methodologies.
- Gain experience in organizing and maintaining project and client data within our project management system.
- Travel to project sites for field reconnaissance in diverse terrains and weather conditions.
