About the job

GiveDirectly (GD) is dedicated to transforming the landscape of international philanthropy by delivering cash grants directly to those in need. According to the Brookings Institution, an estimated $70 billion in cash transfers is necessary to eradicate the poverty gap, while the current aid sector allocates $135 billion annually, much of which is spent on ineffective interventions. GD aims to establish cash transfers as the standard for foreign aid, similar to how index funds are viewed in finance, thereby accelerating the end of extreme poverty.

Since its inception in 2011, GD has successfully raised over $1 billion and provided cash assistance to more than 2 million individuals across 15 countries. Our commitment to rigorous experimental research has demonstrated significant positive impacts on recipients, earning GD recognition as one of the most innovative non-profits by Fast Company. The cash transfer movement and GD's pivotal role have also been highlighted in esteemed publications such as the New York Times Magazine, This American Life, Foreign Affairs, and The Economist.

We foster a culture that is open, analytical, agile, and flat. With a global workforce of approximately 150 employees and around 650 field operatives, we operate in 21 countries and communicate in 69 languages. Our diverse team includes software engineers, humanitarian experts, management consultants, civil servants, and researchers, creating a vibrant work environment.

GD's core values are fundamental to our operations, emphasizing a genuine focus on the people we serve and the creation of a dynamic, ambitious, and high-performance workplace. We invite you to review our values, as they reflect our work ethic and may resonate with your personal philosophy.

We are committed to cultivating an environment where all team members can thrive, succeed, and grow. Our emphasis on ownership, flexibility, mutual support, enjoyment, and professional development opportunities makes GD a unique place to work.
