Position Overview:

CSN Pete's is in search of a dedicated Auto Body Repair Technician to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to effectively assess damaged vehicles and restore them to their original structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and adept at multitasking to adapt to changing priorities.

Main Responsibilities of the Auto Body Repair Technician:

  • Analyze damage reports and repair cost estimates, strategizing the work to be undertaken.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of collision damage, including assessing the complete vehicle exterior, operational status of power accessories, and ensuring no warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard.
  • Execute structural and comprehensive body repairs: Repair and replace components of the front end, body, doors, frame, and underbody. (Evaluate, repair, or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories.)
  • Straighten bent frames using advanced pulling and anchoring equipment; hammer out dents and imperfections utilizing blocks and hammers.
  • Perform welding on vehicles using MIG welders and compression spot welders.
  • Completely dismantle damaged areas of the vehicle, including blend panel parts, to uncover all hidden damages as early as possible in the repair cycle.
  • Utilize power and hand tools for filing, grinding, and sanding repaired surfaces.
  • Prepare auto body surfaces for painting by masking and taping; apply primers and repaint surfaces.
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic fillers to repair holes, dents, and seams.
  • Restore vehicles to factory specifications (OEM standards).
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and conduct test drives to verify proper handling.
  • Comprehend and interpret repair estimates effectively.
