Position Overview:

CSN Collision is actively seeking a talented Auto Body Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess the skills necessary to assess and repair vehicles from a damaged state, restoring them to their original structural integrity, function, and aesthetic appeal. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Auto Body Repair Technician:

  • Analyze damage reports and repair cost estimates, and develop a comprehensive plan for the work to be performed.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of collision damage, reviewing all exterior body parts, ensuring all power accessories are operational, and identifying any prior damages not recorded on the QA checklist or supplemental damage sheet.
  • Perform structural and comprehensive body repairs: Repair or replace front end components, body parts, doors, frames, and underbody components. Assess, repair, or replace interior and exterior components, electrical accessories, and more.
  • Straighten bent frames using specialized pulling and anchoring equipment. Remove dents, buckles, and other imperfections with hand tools and hammers.
  • Execute welding tasks using MIG welders and compression spot welders.
  • Completely dismantle damaged vehicle areas, including blend panel parts, to uncover all hidden damages early in the repair process. This includes removing damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Utilize power and hand tools to file, grind, and sand repaired surfaces.
  • Prepare auto body surfaces for painting by masking and taping, applying primers, and repainting as required.
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic fillers to address holes, dents, and seams.
  • Restore vehicles to factory specifications (OEM standards).
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to ensure proper handling and safety.
  • Read and interpret estimates effectively.
