Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer (n8n Specialist) to architect, implement, and sustain the automation workflows that drive our clients' operations. This is a hands-on engineering position that prioritizes the execution of automation requirements within agile sprint cycles. Collaborating closely with the automation lead and operations team, you will create n8n workflows, system integrations, and scalable automation pipelines that enhance client campaigns and streamline internal processes.
Core Responsibilities
- n8n Workflow Development
- Develop, test, and deploy n8n workflows aimed at automating operational tasks such as lead enrichment, signal detection, outreach sequencing, reply routing, and reporting.
- Enhance and optimize existing workflows by refining error handling, logging, execution speed, and scalability.
- Design workflows that are modular and reusable for multiple clients, avoiding one-off builds.
- Swiftly troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and establish preventative measures against recurring problems.
- Integration & Data Flows
- Build and maintain integrations between various operational tools, including Airtable, Clay, Slack, CRM systems, outreach platforms, and custom APIs.
- Ensure data integrity across systems through field mapping, validation logic, deduplication, and error handling.
- Utilize webhooks, REST APIs, authentication systems, and JSON data transformations.
- Sprint Execution & Team Collaboration
- Engage in Airtable-managed sprint cycles to extract tasks from the backlog, estimate effort, and ensure timely delivery of automation projects.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Communicate any blockers promptly and work closely with the automation lead and operations team.
- Document workflows, architectural decisions, and deployment processes for future maintainability.
- Quality & Reliability
- Conduct thorough testing of workflows prior to deployment, analyzing edge cases, rate limits, empty datasets, and error scenarios.
- Proactively monitor production automations and address issues before they escalate.
