The Automotive Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring vehicles are maintained and repaired in line with both dealer and manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or diagnostic problems.
- Execute repairs as per the diagnosed issues, which may involve tasks related to the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and HVAC.
- Perform test drives to validate repairs, troubleshoot existing issues, and confirm vehicle functionality post-repair.
- Replace or repair essential components such as spark plugs, filters, brake pads, rotors, belts, and hoses.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks, and alignment adjustments.
- Inspect vehicles for safety concerns and recommend additional services to ensure customer safety.
- Collaborate with service advisors to communicate any unnecessary work or delays in repair timelines.
- Coordinate with the parts department to acquire necessary components efficiently.
- Document and tag parts for warranty claims or customer requests.
