Casa Kia, located in El Paso, TX, is actively searching for Military Veterans with mechanical experience who want to embark on a fulfilling career as an Automotive Service Technician.
This role is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), a well-structured apprenticeship initiative by Kia America designed to facilitate the transition of Military Veterans into the automotive sector. Participants will gain practical dealership experience while completing a one-year competency-based apprenticeship that culminates in Kia Service Technician certification.
Through VTAP, Veterans have the chance to work full-time at a participating Kia dealership while receiving the essential training, tools, and support needed to evolve into highly skilled automotive technicians. This program is GI Bill® approved, allowing eligible Veterans to obtain a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) throughout their apprenticeship period.
As an Automotive Technician Apprentice, you will collaborate closely with seasoned technicians and service professionals, honing the technical knowledge and practical skills required to diagnose, service, and repair Kia vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, focusing on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs utilizing Kia diagnostic procedures and tools.
- Complete repair orders and warranty documentation in accordance with Kia and dealership standards.
- Perform test drives to verify repairs and ensure quality using suitable diagnostic equipment.
- Engage effectively with service advisors and shop foremen to guarantee a positive customer experience.
- Uphold a safe, organized, and efficient workspace while adhering to dealership safety protocols.
