Minimum Requirements:BA/BS degree and a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in aviation civil engineering and airport infrastructure projects, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including at least 4 years of leadership experience. Proven experience in achieving sales production metrics, along with demonstrated skills in business development strategy, team leadership, client discovery, and crafting compelling value propositions that align with client needs.

The Aviation Engineering Technical Practice Leader for the Americas plays a pivotal role in reporting to the Americas Aviation Lead. This position is critical for driving the growth of aviation engineering practices, enhancing delivery quality, and fortifying technical expertise within the practice. The successful candidate will harness cross-business line and sector delivery resources while serving as AECOM's face in industry leadership. Ideal for a motivated individual keen to lead and elevate a thriving engineering practice, this role necessitates strong networks within commercial airport facilities. Furthermore, it offers exceptional opportunities for development and collaboration with clients, federal, state, municipal officials, industry associations, technical leaders, and project specialists within a dynamic, supportive, and flexible work culture. The Leader will closely collaborate with the Global Aviation team and transportation leadership across the US East and West Regions.

Given the nature of this position, it offers flexible location options including remote work, with travel required as needed.

Core Responsibilities Include:

Practice Growth and Sales

Contribute significantly to the growth, strategy, and sales of AECOM’s services within the Aviation sector, focusing on key strategic clients and partners across the Americas. Collaborate with Regional Aviation Market Sector Leads, Global Aviation team, and Regional Aviation Division Managers to ensure sustained strategic business development. Support aviation capture managers in securing and executing major engineering projects.

Build and maintain robust relationships with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and aviation stakeholders, acting as a representative ambassador for AECOM. Utilize technical expertise to participate in the creation of capture plans that align with business development strategies and technical capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Engaging in national collaboration with Aviation Planning, B+P, Construction Management, and various business lines for aviation civil engineering services.
  • Formulating and executing national strategies for aviation civil engineering projects in alignment with organizational goals, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Structuring technical delivery teams with the requisite skills for effective project execution.
  • Identifying and recruiting key industry talent in line with market strategy.
  • Enhancing existing strategies to stimulate organizational growth across the Americas aviation sector.
  • Advising leadership regarding resource capabilities that foster market expansion and geographic outreach.
