Qualifications

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Mechanical, Material, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Boards/Modules manufacturing engineering, with strong expertise in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), module assembly, rework processes, material sourcing, and qualification. Proficient in utilizing 5-why root cause analysis, PFMEA, DOE, SPC, troubleshooting, excursion control, and structural problem-solving methodologies. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively. A strong passion for system manufacturing assembly and a commitment to driving continuous manufacturing process improvements through LEAN, Six Sigma, and World Class Manufacturing techniques are highly desirable. Additional critical soft skills include knowledge of program management, effective communication, and presentation abilities.

About the job

  • As a Backend Manufacturing Engineer focused on sustaining processes, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our production capabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Engaging early with New Product Introduction (NPI) development teams to impact Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) strategies, while implementing newly developed High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) recipes.
  • Collaborating with NPI engineers to devise innovative SSD rework techniques, and co-owning the characterization of manufacturing recipes with NPI teams. You will define Critical-to-Function (CTF) process parameters, monitor NPI execution, and qualify rework procedures.
  • Taking ownership of new site or production line start-up and certification based on capacity demands, including process and equipment qualifications, and reviewing engineering whitepapers.
  • Driving continuous improvements in production yield, product quality, and process stability while leading cost reduction initiatives through lean projects. You will manage HVM standards and oversee process change control, ensuring comprehensive engineering data review and qualification coverage supports all change requests.
  • Managing manufacturing excursions by chairing the Material Review Board (MRB), leveraging technical risk assessments and failure analysis data to identify root causes and implement systematic corrective actions and risk mitigation plans.
