We are seeking a skilled Battery Test Engineer to lead the development and testing of the next generation of batteries for light electric vehicles. This critical role will involve building, testing, and diagnosing battery failures, while also developing and executing comprehensive test plans, performing hands-on testing, and providing design recommendations focused on battery safety. Ideal candidates will combine technical expertise in testing with strong data analysis and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct tests on prototype battery packs for light electric vehicles as part of an agile, collaborative team.

  • Evaluate and enhance battery safety, emphasizing passive propagation resistance.

  • Partner with design, systems, and reliability engineers to create test plans, ensuring thorough execution, analysis, and reporting to key stakeholders.

  • Perform thermal and electrical performance verification, as well as reliability, durability, and safety testing (including thermal runaway), while meticulously documenting all procedures and results.

  • Set up and manage testing equipment, including DAQs and various sensors, to monitor and collect data across multiple test conditions.

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors, contract manufacturers, and testing facilities.

  • Analyze test results and prepare coherent technical summaries detailing methodologies, observations, and conclusions.

  • Assist in maintaining and calibrating testing equipment while aiding in the development of new testing fixtures and setups.

  • Occasional travel to visit testing vendors (up to 15% of the time).

Qualifications
