33 USA Inc. is on the lookout for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager who is fluent in both Japanese and English. This pivotal role will focus on fostering our agency's growth across North America, aligning Business Development with Client Services. You will be tasked with crafting innovative sales strategies to attract new clients while also serving as a strategic ally to our existing key accounts, enhancing their lifetime value.
As a leader within the team, you will manage the sales pipeline, provide mentorship to junior Business Development Leads, and collaborate closely with our executive team to connect Japanese content with the global marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Development: Take ownership of the annual revenue goals for the North American market by designing and implementing an effective sales strategy aimed at achieving ambitious growth targets.
- Pipeline Oversight: Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through to closing deals. Focus on securing high-value contracts with leading entertainment studios, publishers, and streaming platforms.
- Partnership Development: Identify, negotiate, and establish complex partnership agreements, including licensing arrangements, agency-of-record (AOR) contracts, and joint ventures.
- Networking: Represent 33 USA Inc. at major industry events such as Anime Expo, Comic-Con, CES, SXSW, and Licensing Expo, thereby expanding our network of key client and partner decision-makers.
Client Management & Success:
- Advisory Role: Serve as the senior point of contact for significant clients, shifting from transactional interactions to providing meaningful marketing consultancy and brand strategy.
- Service Expansion: Recognize opportunities within current accounts to broaden the scope of services, including PR, Social Media Marketing, Event Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Creative Production.
- Client Retention: Monitor client satisfaction and health, conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to demonstrate ROI, and facilitate contract renewals.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the profitability of accounts (P&L), ensure accurate forecasting, and oversee billing and contract negotiations to safeguard agency margins.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Management: Lead, mentor, and assess Business Development Leads and Associates. Establish individual KPIs and offer coaching to enhance their pitching and closing capabilities.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work alongside Marketing, Creative, and Project Management teams to guarantee that commitments made during the sales process are realistic and delivered proficiently.
- Headquarters Liaison: Act as a vital link between our US office and Japan Headquarters, ensuring that global strategies are effectively localized for the North American market.
