Join Help Resourcing Limited, a prominent independent family-owned Builders & Plumbers Merchant with over 280 dedicated staff members and a vast range of 22,000 building, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen and bathroom products. With stores located in London and Hertfordshire, we have been a trusted name in the construction industry for over 40 years.

We are currently seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join our central sales team, operating from our flagship site, recognized as one of the largest Builders Merchants in the South East. In this role, you will manage your own client ledger while actively pursuing new business opportunities to further enhance our well-established reputation in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Sales Director to analyze market share, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategies to engage both existing and lapsed customers in alignment with our strategic business goals.
  2. Conduct regular structured review meetings with key customers to maximize business development opportunities.
  3. Support customers in identifying potential opportunities through collaboration with various business areas (branches, departments, etc.).
  4. Strengthen relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  5. Provide guidance on key product lines and electrical profiles, engaging with suppliers to establish pricing and range agreements.
  6. Proactively cross-sell and inform customers of additional offerings.
  7. Regularly review account plans with Department Managers, incorporating strategy, sales tactics, sales plans, and margin targets to drive accounts forward.
  8. Identify and address relationship gaps by networking with all relevant departments within customer accounts.
  9. Act as a communication link between key customers and internal teams, including Hardware, Transport, Plumbing, Electrical, and the Kitchen and Bathroom showrooms.
  10. Take initiative to resolve customer issues, ensuring trust and satisfaction are maintained.
