The Business Intelligence Programming Analyst at sportygroup shapes strategic decisions by turning programming, audience, and performance data into clear insights. This role goes beyond standard reporting. It requires skill in structuring complex datasets, spotting trends, and translating numbers into concise narratives for executives.
Core responsibilities include building dashboards, analyzing performance, and preparing presentations that support leadership discussions and planning. Success in this position depends on a strong grasp of how TV ratings, digital performance, and business outcomes connect, along with the ability to communicate findings to different teams.
What You Will Do
- Create and manage daily and weekly programming schedules for both linear and digital channels.
- Coordinate live sports events, studio shows, replays, and other content, ensuring alignment with rights windows and distribution agreements.
- Operate and oversee the programming grid within broadcast traffic and scheduling systems.
- Implement schedules using tools such as Media+, Aleph, Protheus, or similar software.
- Manage insertion of live events, replays, promo spots, sponsorship materials, and commercial breaks.
- Handle real-time schedule adjustments during live broadcasts or updates.
- Deliver accurate Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data to distribution partners and internal systems.
- Work closely with Programming, OPEC, Operations, and Marketing to ensure smooth execution of programming plans.
- Monitor schedule accuracy and reconcile programming with As-Run logs.
- Keep documentation on programming grids and schedule changes current.
- Support strategic planning for major competitions, special broadcasts, and seasonal programming.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media, Broadcasting, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in television programming or scheduling.
- Sports broadcasting experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of traffic systems and EPG workflows.
- Technical skills with playout or traffic systems.
- Knowledge of broadcast clocks and commercial break structures.
- Familiarity with As-Run logs and compliance processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
