Role Overview: Buyer/Planner II
The Buyer/Planner II manages procurement and material planning for both production and new product introduction (NPI) projects. This role shapes the delivery of Northwood’s space communication systems by overseeing the full material lifecycle, from initial demand through delivery. The position combines planning and purchasing responsibilities to improve speed, accountability, and results.
Working closely with supply chain, engineering, and operations, the Buyer/Planner II translates evolving designs into clear material requirements. The goal: ensure components are available on time for uninterrupted builds and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and material planning for assigned programs
- Manage the complete lifecycle of materials, from demand forecasting to delivery
- Coordinate with engineering and operations to align material needs with changing designs
- Push suppliers to meet strict timelines and quality standards
- Identify and resolve supply challenges before they affect production
- Continuously improve planning and procurement processes as the company grows
