Candidates must demonstrate their capability and experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) customer environment and their ability to seamlessly integrate within a government multi-contractor team.

As a Cable Technician II, you will be a vital member of the Network Infrastructure and Support team, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of structured cabling systems in the DISA enterprise transport network. A hands-on approach is essential to ensure that our physical infrastructure adheres to the highest standards of operational efficiency, security, and compliance with DoD STIG and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair structured cabling systems, including copper, fiber optic, and other telecommunications media.
Analyze, manage, and maintain the telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
Dress, terminate, and test cables and components, demonstrating proficiency with power tools and ladders.
Conduct testing, troubleshooting, installations, and repairs related to cabling infrastructure concerning trouble calls and perform routine maintenance.
Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems.
Identify, track, and remove abandoned cables, ensuring all cables are neatly bundled while following safety protocols.
Ensure that all installations are properly baselined, tested, and validated according to DoD STIG standards before deployment.
Perform regular system testing and validation to maintain ongoing compliance.
Assist in documenting the baseline configuration of all network assets linked to structured cabling systems.
Ensure accurate representation and reporting of assets in the government-provided system.
Collaborate closely with the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), IT team, and other stakeholders to achieve a unified approach to network infrastructure management.
