Degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution. Current unrestricted Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Texas. A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant. Commitment to ongoing professional education to maintain licensure. Demonstrates a caring and empathetic demeanor. Current CPR certification is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective time management abilities. Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.

We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our pediatric clients, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team and their families to create tailored treatment plans. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapeutic and self-care activities to enhance clients' functionality under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR).
  • Monitor client activities to ensure proper execution and provide encouragement and suggestions for improvement.
  • Participate in supervision meetings with OTR, contributing to progress reports and updates.
  • Document client session outcomes using SOAP note format.
  • Educate clients, their families, and caregivers on treatment techniques and skills under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrate exercises that facilitate improved performance of daily tasks.
  • Verify client information through interviews and review medical history.
  • Follow and adapt treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide direct instruction on therapy techniques, including positioning and environmental adaptations.
  • Maintain therapy records by documenting client progress.
  • Assist in revenue generation by accurately recording service billing information.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to protocols and legal regulations.
  • Maintain therapeutic equipment by following operational guidelines and conducting preventive maintenance.
  • Communicate supply and equipment needs to management.
  • Uphold professional standards and compliance with occupational therapy policies and procedures.
