About the job

In this pivotal position, you will define and enhance the system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and operational tools that underpin Surgimate’s product offerings. You will also be directly involved in implementing key components of these systems in a live environment.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and CI/CD, combined with exceptional behavioral maturity, open-mindedness, and strong architectural judgment. You will be entrusted with GitHub maintainer responsibilities and will gain production access, enabling you to engage in release management within 6-8 months. We seek someone who thrives in complex scenarios, communicates effectively, and balances technical precision with practical decision-making.

As the Chief Architect, you will take ownership of projects from the initial concept to deployment, documentation, and team handoff. This role is NOT suitable for candidates looking for an advisory, review-only, or high-level architecture position without direct involvement in delivery.

Your Responsibilities

Architecture & System Design

Architect, implement, and maintain Surgimate’s cloud-native platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Define, refine, and implement system boundaries, service interactions, communication patterns, and integration architectures (microservices, event-driven, API-based).
Design for resilience using established architectural patterns (e.g., DDD concepts, messaging patterns, caching, HA/failover strategies).
Create high-quality architecture diagrams and system documentation that accurately depict the implemented, live systems, not just theoretical designs.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Collaborate with the Cloud Infrastructure team to design AWS architecture, including services like ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, and related components.
