What you will do Drive research in Embodied AI and Spatial AI, working with teams to tackle practical challenges and support the transition of innovations from idea to deployment. Create and refine methods in Physical AI, such as robotic foundation models, world models, multimodal representation learning, reasoning, planning, and reinforcement learning with low-level control. Translate complex research problems and model architectures into production-ready systems to enable rapid iteration and large-scale experimentation. Design and conduct experiments on simulated and real robotic platforms, focusing on data collection, performance measurement, and analysis. Advance closed-loop learning by integrating data, models, and real-world feedback to improve system reliability and adaptability. Collaborate with research, infrastructure, and robotics teams to ensure systems are well-integrated and scalable. Lead and contribute to research publications and patents, targeting venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, and ICRA.

Role Overview: Survey Party Chief Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada DOF Canada seeks a Survey Party Chief to join its growing survey team. This role supports both international and local projects, with rotations expected to last 4 to 6 weeks. The Survey Party Chief works closely with offshore and onshore teams and reports directly to the Project Manager. Main Responsibilities Oversee testing and calibration of survey equipment and software before projects begin. Coordinate and manage mobilization of survey equipment and software on vessels. Maintain a clear understanding of data flow from calibration at mobilization through logging and quality control. Develop project procedures and assist with project preparation. Manage project work scope and ensure compliance with contractual obligations offshore. Lead, guide, and supervise the offshore survey team. Ensure necessary equipment and personnel are available for project execution. Verify that all personnel meet company standards for operational capability, competence, health, and safety. Communicate daily with the Project Manager. Liaise with client representatives and senior vessel/ROV crew. Supervise subcontractor field teams. Conduct offshore appraisals and support team development. Delegate responsibilities in line with company procedures as appropriate. Complete daily and end-of-project reporting. Ensure compliance with offshore QHSE standards. Implement and maintain survey standards throughout offshore operations. Maintain a thorough understanding of survey deliverables to support successful project completion.
