About the Role:
The Special Projects Division at KPFF is expanding and seeking a motivated and proactive Civil Transportation Engineer to enhance our vibrant team in Seattle or Tacoma, WA. You will work at the core of urban development, engaging in a wide array of heavy civil and industrial infrastructure initiatives. As an integral team member, you will not only sharpen your skills in roadway and transportation enhancements on design-build assignments but also delve into design, project management, and exceptional client service. What You’ll Be Doing:
Civil Design and Development:
- Leverage your engineering acumen across diverse projects, collaborating with teams to create innovative solutions rooted in best practices, including linear utility projects, street enhancements, design/build initiatives, and transportation infrastructure.
- Engage in projects related to waterfront and industrial developments, applying your expertise to drive successful results in these niche areas.
- Develop skills in risk assessment and mitigation strategies that contribute to project success.
- Gain hands-on experience in ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle, including familiarity with regulations and permitting processes.
- Enhance your ability to identify and tackle challenges through innovative problem-solving, utilizing both traditional and contemporary engineering methodologies.
Project Leadership:
- Support in managing project tasks, ensuring effective coordination of timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as necessary to confirm compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Guide and mentor team members to foster their professional growth and development.
Client Engagement and Exceptional Service:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by actively listening to client needs, providing transparent communication, and delivering tailored solutions aligned with their goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert guidance and proactive assistance throughout all project phases.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- A minimum of 4 years of full-time experience in relevant civil/site development engineering design (internship experience is acknowledged but does not count towards the minimum requirement).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
