A minimum of 4 years of full-time experience in relevant civil/site development engineering design (internship experience is valuable but does not fulfill the mandatory three-year requirement). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

The Special Projects Division at KPFF is expanding and is in search of a passionate and proactive Civil Transportation Engineer to enhance our innovative team located in Tacoma, WA. In this pivotal role, you will engage in a variety of heavy civil and industrial infrastructure projects right in the heart of downtown. You'll refine your expertise in roadway and transportation enhancements through design-build initiatives while immersing yourself in design, project management, and exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities:

Civil Design and Development:

  • Leverage your engineering knowledge across diverse projects, collaborating with teams to create innovative solutions for linear utility projects, street enhancements, design/build ventures, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Contribute to projects involving waterfront and industrial developments, applying your expertise for successful project outcomes.
  • Learn to evaluate risks and formulate mitigation strategies that ensure project success.
  • Gain experience ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle, including familiarity with regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Sharpen your ability to identify and tackle challenges using both traditional and modern engineering techniques.

Project Leadership:

  • Assist in overseeing project tasks, ensuring effective coordination of timelines, budgets, and resources for successful project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Mentor fellow team members to foster their professional growth and development.

Client Engagement and Exceptional Service:

  • Build strong client relationships by actively listening to their needs, communicating clearly, and delivering tailored solutions that align with their goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and proactive support throughout every project phase.
