The Bureau of Public Health Clinics, focusing on improving the sexual health of all New Yorkers, provides essential clinic services and education to the community. This includes direct sexual health care, monitoring disease trends, and developing policies to enhance wellness.
We are seeking a dedicated Computer Informatics Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Informatics, you will analyze data to understand user behavior, identify workflow inefficiencies, and generate insights to enhance clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer frontline support to clinical staff for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), troubleshooting and guiding workflow adoption.
- Design and maintain data collection frameworks using REDCap and EMR data to facilitate clinical programs and research.
- Conduct data analyses using SQL, R, or SAS to evaluate system utilization and clinical workflow patterns.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reports to monitor EMR adoption and workflow performance over time.
- Define indicators for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, tracking performance and identifying trends.
- Ensure data validation and quality assurance for accuracy in EMR and data applications.
- Contribute to research by preparing datasets and supporting the interpretation of findings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Document data definitions and evaluation findings to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools like R or SAS; experience with REDCap and EMR systems.
- Knowledge of HL7 is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare IT or clinical informatics is preferred.
- Core competencies include strong organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively across teams.
