Your Impact

In the role of Controllership AI & Automation Transformation Lead, you will spearhead key AI, analytics, and automation projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency, quality, and scalability of our Controllership operations.

You will manage distinct projects from initiation to completion, collaborating closely with teams in Accounting, IT/Engineering, and Internal Audit to deliver tangible outcomes. This will involve leading discussions with process stakeholders, identifying current challenges and opportunities, outlining business needs, and utilizing AI and automation tools to create effective solutions. Your role will also include collaborating with IT/data teams to empower process owners in building their own solutions, as well as engaging in the hands-on development of these solutions.

What You’ll Do

Location: San Francisco, CA (flexibility for other Axon hubs)
Reports to: Director, Chief of Staff (Controllership)

  • Establish the AI transformation strategy for the Controllership function.
  • Spot and rank high-impact automation/AI opportunities within Controllership processes (including Accounting Operations, Tax, Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, Revenue Accounting, and New Product Introduction).
  • Clarify project scope, requirements, and success metrics; develop ROI analyses (e.g., hours saved, cycle-time reduction, error-rate reduction, rework avoidance).
  • Collaborate with Finance Systems, IT, and Engineering to implement solutions leveraging automation, analytics, and AI/LLM-enabled tools (such as workflow automation and intelligent triage).
  • Create and validate analytical frameworks (like SQL-based checks, reconciliation logic, KPI dashboards) to ensure the accuracy, transparency, and auditability of outputs.
  • Communicate transformation results to leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Oversee project execution, including timelines, risks, dependencies, stakeholder communications, UAT coordination, rollout planning, and post-launch stabilization.
