Education and Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.• Minimum of 2 years working specifically as a cost accountant.• Proven experience with account reconciliations and financial reporting.• Strong mathematical skills and the ability to interpret financial data effectively.• Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel (including Macros), Word, and PowerPoint.• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.• Hands-on experience with AS400/QAD is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Engage in monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Conduct thorough inventory analysis and interpretation for effective decision-making.

• Execute absorption analysis and calculations to determine product costs.

• Provide detailed month-end cost variance analysis to identify discrepancies.

• Execute all necessary journal entries related to inventory management.

• Reconcile inventory accounts to maintain accurate financial records.

• Collaborate in sales and cost forecasting and budgeting, focusing on volume, material costs, labor, and overhead.

• Establish annual labor and factory overhead rates by cost center.

• Perform Purchase Price Variance (PPV) analysis to evaluate cost efficiency.

• Validate and implement costs for new projects to ensure financial viability.

• Analyze volume price mix for optimal pricing strategies.

• Conduct audits and analysis of Bills of Materials (BOM).

• Manage payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Analyze payroll data, including headcount and labor distribution.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to assess staffing needs.

• Ensure audit and compliance for cost and payroll activities.

• Prepare various ad-hoc financial reports as required.

• Perform scrap analysis to optimize material usage.

• Validate cost projects from continuous improvement initiatives.

• Undertake additional finance-related activities as necessary.
