The Program Development, Coordination, and Support Directorate plays a crucial role in designing, coordinating, and managing the construction and renovation programs at the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO). We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to deliver expert cost estimating services for overseas construction and maintenance projects.
As a Cost Estimator within the Office of Cost Management (OBO/PDCS/COST), you will undertake a diverse array of cost estimating and management consulting responsibilities. Your role will involve:
- Reviewing and assisting in the preparation of project cost estimates, providing comprehensive cost analysis and management services, including program, cost, and price analysis, budget development, and detailed cost estimating throughout all phases of construction projects.
- Advising on construction market surveys by gathering in-country construction cost data, assessing the impact of local laws and taxes on cost estimates, and engaging in discussions with foreign officials on related cost issues.
- Analyzing project and program requirements to prepare conceptual and detailed budget estimates based on various project documents and updating estimates per provided scope definitions.
- Ensuring all cost estimates adhere to standard formats and preparing Current Working Estimates (CWEs) in compliance with OBO program requirements and established policies.
