Role Overview
The Credit Risk Manager will report to the 1LOD Head of Credit Risk. This role shapes credit risk strategy and oversees third-party asset portfolios, including those held by subsidiaries. The position is based in Manchester.
What You Will Do
- Lead the oversight and development of credit strategy for third-party asset portfolios, with a primary focus on retail mortgages (both owner-occupied and buy-to-let).
- Monitor portfolio performance closely to spot areas of marginal risk or concern early.
- Support updates to subsidiary credit policies and strategies, ensuring governance standards are met.
- Identify, monitor, and report on emerging risks within the bank’s third-party asset portfolios.
- Act as a subject matter expert on credit risk across the product lifecycle, especially for retail mortgages.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist and mentor analysts within the team, with the potential for line management responsibilities.
