As a Manager in our Data Science and Research team, you will lead a talented group of Data Scientists while diving deeply into hands-on technical work. This role is approximately 70% hands-on, merging direct modeling efforts with strategic team leadership.
Your work will focus on core systems operating at a large scale, where:
- Data is plentiful, but labeled data is limited and costly.
- Challenges are often long-tail and complex.
- Systems must adhere to stringent latency and cost constraints (pre-bid).
- Oversee the development of content classification systems across various social platforms including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as web and mobile applications.
- Design and implement models leveraging computer vision, natural language processing, and multimodal pipelines.
- Manage the entire lifecycle from data selection to labeling strategy, training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Formulate strategies for efficient data curation and labeling, including active learning and auto-labeling.
- Enhance model quality (precision/recall) while balancing cost, latency, and scalability.
- Drive automation systems for auto-labeling, auto-curation, and retraining processes.
- Utilize modern AI methodologies, such as LLMs and embeddings, to tackle real-world production challenges.
- Lead and mentor a team of senior Data Scientists, establishing technical direction and propelling execution.
- Collaborate closely with ML Engineering, Product, and Policy teams to transform ambiguous requirements into actionable solutions.
