Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Assist the Head of Production in managing all facets of video production, ensuring high standards of quality and output across the team. Lead the planning, shooting, and editing of interviews, features, and live broadcasts. Take charge of complex or high-profile productions, including live events and multi-camera shoots. Act as the Head of Production in their absence, including team coordination and decision-making. Oversee and enhance studio operations, ensuring all technical equipment and workflows function effectively. Provide technical guidance across camera, lighting, audio, and editing setups. Edit high-quality video and audio content under tight deadlines, often in response to breaking news. Collaborate with editorial teams to shape content, employing strong story judgement and news sense. Promote best practices in video production, workflows, and output quality. Mentor junior team members, fostering skill development and performance improvement. Ensure content is optimized for digital platforms, especially YouTube, with a keen understanding of packaging, SEO, and audience engagement. Contribute innovative ideas for new formats, content exploration, and audience expansion. Maintain adaptability to respond to live events, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend commitments. Requirements:Extensive professional experience in video production within a newsroom, media, or digital content setting. Demonstrated ability to lead productions from start to finish, including live and studio-based projects. Advanced technical knowledge across filming, lighting, audio, and post-production workflows. Expert proficiency with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with vMix and DaVinci Resolve is highly desirable. Strong understanding of the YouTube ecosystem, including content performance, packaging, and optimization strategies. Proven editorial judgement and a strong sense of storytelling.
