About the job

Director of Capital Formation - US East

Pantera Capital is a pioneering institutional investment firm dedicated exclusively to bitcoin, digital currencies, and blockchain technology companies. Established as the first cryptocurrency fund in the United States when bitcoin was valued at $65/BTC in 2013, Pantera also launched the first exclusively-blockchain venture fund and was the first to offer an early-stage token fund in 2017. Currently, Pantera manages $5.6 billion across three investment strategies - passive, hedge, and venture - all focused on the burgeoning landscape of digital assets and blockchain technology.

We are looking to enhance our business development team by adding a seasoned Director to spearhead sales initiatives for the US East region. The successful candidate will play an integral role in raising institutional capital for Pantera Capital’s funds within this area. This position requires a highly experienced professional with a robust background in capital formation, relationship management, and alternative investments. Candidates must be available to work on-site in our New York office at least four days a week or be willing to travel for business purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Raising: Lead efforts to attract institutional capital across Pantera’s investment strategies, targeting family offices, foundations, endowments, and other institutional investors.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate, manage, and enhance long-term relationships with key decision-makers at institutional organizations to promote the Pantera brand, secure larger allocations from existing limited partners, and encourage the adoption of Pantera’s investment strategies by new investors.
  • Investor Education: Effectively communicate Pantera’s investment strategies, fund performance, and industry insights to both prospective and current investors.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams, including investor relations, marketing, and portfolio managers, to ensure consistent messaging and deliver customized solutions.
  • Reporting: Monitor fundraising activities, prepare regular updates, and maintain Salesforce for accurate reporting and follow-ups.
  • Market Expertise: Act as a thought leader for Pantera Capital in the realm of alternative investments and emerging asset classes, including digital assets.
  • Engagement Profiling: Assess prospects for optimal engagement methods with Pantera and gather actionable insights about prospects to build a comprehensive knowledge base of organizations and contacts.
