About the job
About The Role
As the Head of Developer Relations at Tenki, you will serve as the public advocate and technical spokesperson, influencing how developers perceive and engage with AI-native software development. This role transcends conventional content creation; we seek an experienced developer who excels at communication. You should possess practical experience in shipping production code, confidently engage in technical discussions, and articulate your insights into engaging narratives that resonate with engineers. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in redefining the technical landscape at Tenki.
This is a fully remote position, although candidates must be situated in San Francisco (CA).
At Tenki, you will take charge of how developers discover, comprehend, and trust our innovations:
Engage in public development using Tenki: conduct weekly livestreams addressing real open-source software bugs; provide monthly reports detailing challenges faced; perform public benchmarks against competitor tools; create teardown discussions on X upon release; and contribute to open-source pull requests where Tenki assisted, including diff and prompt history, all crafted for engineers rather than marketing.
Consistently deliver impactful content across X, YouTube, long-form articles, podcasts, and speaking engagements at conferences.
Cultivate strong, decisive viewpoints on AI-native code review, developer infrastructure, and the engineering workflows of the agent era, defending them in public forums.
Develop and nurture a genuine developer community around Tenki, fostering a network of engineers who share our mutual interests rather than merely a marketing database.
Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to enhance onboarding, documentation, and the initial user experience.
Be present in the spaces where developers congregate: GitHub discussions, technical Discord channels, informal conference interactions, and late-night debugging sessions, rather than vendor booths or pay-to-play panels.
Actively relay product feedback to the internal team; as the team member closest to how developers utilize our offerings, your insights will be crucial in shaping our product roadmap.
About You
We prioritize impact, which stems from passion and reach. Up to 2 years in a similar role is sufficient, provided your contributions have influenced engineers and transformed their perspectives. We seek evidence of work that has resonated, posts that sparked discussions, repositories that were forked, threads that were referenced.
We are looking for genuine engagement over superficial influence. Demonstrate your capabilities through actual code.
You have a proven track record of shipping real production code...
