Qualifications

Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Current, active RN license in Texas (or compact eligible). At least 1 year of recent experience as an Emergency Department Director (exceptionally strong ED Managers may also be considered). A minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department. Proven track record in operational metrics, quality outcomes, and staff leadership. Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Experience in managing high-volume Emergency Departments. Strong expertise in throughput optimization and employee engagement initiatives.

This leader will guide a high-traffic Emergency Department as it continues to grow and evolve. The position entails providing strategic, operational, and clinical leadership, with a significant focus on accountability, patient flow, staff engagement, and achieving quality outcomes.

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Emergency Department leader who excels in fast-paced settings, prioritizes teamwork, and is eager to enhance departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide comprehensive leadership for Emergency Services.

  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered emergency care.

  • Develop staffing strategies, manage schedules, and control productivity.

  • Advance patient throughput, optimize flow, and implement surge planning initiatives.

  • Create, execute, and uphold clinical standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation benchmarks.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Lead and mentor the Emergency Department leadership team, including managers and charge nurses.

  • Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

  • Manage departmental budgets, operating costs, and cost-containment strategies.

  • Level III Trauma Center

  • Approximately 50 Emergency Department beds

  • Average daily volume of 180–200 patients

  • High EMS and high-acuity case mix

  • Engaged leadership team with a collaborative medical staff

  • Upcoming hospital expansion, including additional inpatient beds
