About the job

At Crusoe, we are on a mission to revolutionize the intersection of energy and intelligence. Our goal is to build the infrastructure that empowers ambitious AI developments without compromising on scale, speed, or sustainability.

Join us in leading the AI revolution with cutting-edge sustainable technology at Crusoe. In this role, you will spearhead significant innovation, make a real-world impact, and collaborate with a team that is pioneering responsible cloud infrastructure transformation.

About the Role:

As the Director of Energy Innovation and Commercialization, you will provide Crusoe with a strategic edge by identifying, assessing, and implementing new technologies to generate or access electricity for our AI computing infrastructure. You will be responsible for establishing an incubation engine that translates novel technologies into scalable solutions and lasting strategic advantages for Crusoe. This position places you at the forefront of energy-centric AI infrastructure development, converting cutting-edge energy technologies into actionable, financeable, and reliable electrical power.

You will collaborate closely with the Chief Strategy Officer in a dynamic, high-trust environment. This role is multifaceted, encompassing strategy, technical assessment, market analysis, public affairs, and venture capital-style commercial strategies across emerging technologies and early-stage teams.

The ideal candidate is a commercially savvy engineer capable of evaluating energy technologies based on design, operational efficiency, economic viability, and strategic importance. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster relationships, forge partnerships, and effectively negotiate are crucial for this role. Candidates should exhibit exemplary leadership, communication, and presentation skills, along with robust critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach, and the creativity to navigate evolving markets and technologies.

This position is designed for those who thrive in an environment characterized by rigorous work, ambiguity, high impact, and real-world constraints. Expect late nights, weekends, extensive cross-functional collaboration, and considerable travel. Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional technical analysis capabilities, the ability to simplify complex concepts, stakeholder engagement expertise, and sound commercial judgment. A deep understanding of power markets and energy project development is essential for this role.
