Role Overview:
In the role of Director of Risk Management, you will spearhead our credit strategy and oversee portfolio performance for ClarityPay’s Pay Over Time lending solutions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing scalable, data-driven risk frameworks that support growth while safeguarding our capital.
This position requires collaborative efforts across Data, Product, and Revenue teams to enhance our underwriting, exposure, fraud, and repayment strategies, ensuring a balance between innovation, compliance, and rigor. This senior-level role is ideal for a strategic thinker with extensive credit risk expertise within fintech or lending sectors.
In this role, you will…
Lead and refine the risk strategy throughout the lifecycle: onboarding, limit assignment, early collections, and default management.
Collaborate with engineering and data teams to create resilient, automated decision-making systems.
Establish and monitor risk KPIs across various products and merchant portfolios.
Guide the execution of credit policies and early warning frameworks.
Maintain robust regulatory and governance standards in partnership with legal and compliance leaders.
Represent the Risk function in cross-functional initiatives and executive discussions.
Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of analysts and risk managers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering); advanced degree is a plus.
Proven experience in credit risk management, ideally in a fintech or lending environment.
Exceptional analytical skills with a strong understanding of data-driven decision-making processes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams.
