You should have experience in financial modeling and analysis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Strong analytical abilities and a results-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.

About the job

TL;DR - Why This Role Matters Scribe is navigating an exciting phase of expansion, and we are seeking a Director of Strategic Finance to establish the framework for our growth trajectory. This pivotal position will oversee company-wide planning and forecasting, playing an essential role in determining our investment priorities and growth strategies as we aim to double in size. You will collaborate closely with our Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to convert ambitious growth targets into actionable financial strategies and outcomes. This opportunity is for individuals who desire significant ownership, decision-making authority, and the ability to create the financial operating rhythm for a rapidly growing B2B SaaS organization.

About the Role

In this central role at Scribe, you will take charge of our financial planning and analysis functions, ensuring that the organization makes informed and disciplined decisions as we scale quickly.

You will oversee the entire planning lifecycle, from creating annual operating plans and forecasts to maintaining their accuracy over time. This includes holding teams accountable for performance, managing re-forecasting when actual performance diverges from expectations, and assisting leadership in grasping the implications of their financial choices. The finance team serves as the trusted source of financial truth, and your leadership will be critical in ensuring the organization operates from a unified financial perspective.

This role is both hands-on and high-ownership. You will partner with leaders from GTM, Accounting, and Operations to translate strategy into execution, identify risks and opportunities, and drive clarity in decision-making, particularly in times of ambiguity or misalignment. Although you may not start with a large team, this position carries significant influence, visibility, and responsibility, providing you with the opportunity to shape the financial operations as the company expands.

In your first 3 to 12 months at Scribe, you will:

  • Lead the planning process, including the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, budgets, and long-term planning, while ensuring accountability for performance deviations.

  • Develop and maintain financial models that support strategic decision-making and align with the company’s growth objectives.

  • Explore and implement AI and automation opportunities within finance to enhance forecasting accuracy, speed of decision-making, and delivery of insights to the business.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn financial insights into actionable strategies by clarifying trade-offs and recommending future paths, while promoting timely decision-making amidst uncertainty.
