Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is hiring a Director of Toxicology based in Irvine, California. This leadership role shapes toxicology and safety pharmacology strategy across the company’s programs, connecting early discovery to clinical development. The Director will combine scientific expertise with strategic planning to advance the pipeline through key milestones, from IND-enabling studies to initial clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for toxicology and safety pharmacology across all Tarsus projects.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with contract research organizations (CROs), academic partners, and key opinion leaders.
  • Design GLP-compliant safety and toxicology plans to support First-in-Human (FIH) studies.
  • Oversee both GLP and non-GLP toxicology studies conducted at CROs, ensuring scientific rigor, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and refine study protocols and reports to meet scientific and regulatory requirements.
  • Expand the Toxicology program, including bio-analytics and biomarker capabilities.
  • Prepare and review toxicology sections for regulatory submissions such as IND, CTA, NDA/BLA, and CSR.
  • Represent toxicology on cross-functional teams and governance committees.
  • Align non-clinical study timelines with broader program objectives.
  • Assist Non-clinical Project Leaders in compiling toxicology data for regulatory filings.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders to support effective decision-making.

Innovation and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal groups, including the Innovation Lab and Business Development, to evaluate new assets and develop strategies for toxicology risk mitigation.
