About the job
Join our innovative Droneport team as a Design Engineer and take the lead in developing and scaling the electromechanical hardware for our cutting-edge droneport solutions. Collaborating with our highly skilled colleagues across various departments, you will be instrumental in advancing the frontiers of drone operating platforms. Your role will involve close coordination with the electronics, software, production, and certification teams to create reliable, manufacturable, and certifiable systems, guiding them from initial prototypes to full-scale production. By focusing on product scalability and robustness, you will contribute to our mission of setting the standard for aerial data collection solutions using unmanned aerial systems (sUAV).

Your Daily Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic subsystems for the droneport and related systems.
Contribute to the overall system architecture, ensuring that requirements and capabilities are met from a systems engineering perspective.
Select appropriate materials and define production processes that comply with structural, thermal, and environmental requirements.
Develop and manage detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
Validate concepts through prototyping, stress analysis, and simulation, overseeing your hardware designs through the full prototyping cycle, including assembly and testing.
Plan and manage mechanical testing, reliability validation, and certification processes (e.g., CE, MIL-STD, STANAG).
Ensure designs are scalable for series production, keeping supply chain, DFM, and assembly constraints in mind.
