The Duty Manager - Line Maintenance is a crucial role within our operations at Etihad Airways, responsible for ensuring that all aircraft are certified fit for service in accordance with GCAA regulations. In the absence of the Senior Manager of Aircraft Maintenance, the Duty Manager will assume their responsibilities, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
This role involves direct communication with the MCC controller and Duty Manager regarding incoming defects, providing actionable insights to engineers. The Duty Manager will maintain close collaboration with on-site Field Support Engineers to ensure accurate feedback on both new and existing defects, fostering a proactive maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of technical facilities, including GSE/tool storage areas.
- Exhibit professionalism in customer interactions.
- Engage in ongoing training to enhance operational contributions.
- Organize the IT library and ensure all operators are utilizing current maintenance revisions.
- Wear company-provided safety equipment to uphold health standards and corporate image.
- Implement Safety Management Systems (SMS) and conduct formal Risk Assessments for significant operational changes.
- Promote a safe and secure working environment for all employees at Etihad.
- Manage incident responses to minimize injuries and losses, ensuring compliance with airworthiness regulations for reporting.
- Facilitate training and support for employee development in the Safety Management System and safety culture.
- Monitor compliance with training requirements for supervised employees.
Additional Duties:
- Certify personal and team work after verifying compliance with approved maintenance data.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and promptly per company procedures.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and airport regulations during all operations.
- Verify aircraft effectiveness and ensure reference to the latest maintenance data revisions prior to use.
- Organize and manage line maintenance shift operations.
- Foster a disciplined workplace environment.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Identify and recommend staff for technical and personal development opportunities.
