Qualifications
Responsibilities
Power Architecture: Design the power distribution network (PDN) and select essential components, such as PMICs, chargers, fuel gauges, and protection ICs.
Battery Management: Spearhead the selection, characterization, and safety validation of Li-ion/Li-poly battery cells.
Power Modeling & Simulation: Create detailed power models to forecast battery life across diverse user scenarios (idle, peak load, standby).
Charging Systems: Engineer and refine wired (USB-C PD) and/or wireless charging circuits, ensuring thermal stability and fast-charging compliance.
Efficiency Analysis: Execute bench-level efficiency measurements for DC-DC converters (Buck, Boost, LDO) and optimize firmware settings for peak performance.
Peak Power Management: Formulate power models and management strategies to prevent system brownouts.
Regulatory Compliance: Validate that power designs conform to global safety standards (UL, IEC, UN38.3) and EMI/EMC requirements.
Requirements
Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.
PMIC Expertise: Proven experience in integrating and configuring high-performance PMICs (e.g., Qualcomm, TI, Nordic, or Maxim).
Battery Tech: Comprehensive understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS), including fuel gauging algorithms and state-of-charge (SoC) estimation.
Precision Measurement: Expert-level skills in precision measurement techniques.
