About the job

Saronic Technologies is at the forefront of transforming maritime autonomy, committed to crafting cutting-edge solutions that elevate operational efficiency through innovative autonomous platforms.

Job Overview

As an Electrical Engineering R&D Technician, you will be a vital part of Saronic's engineering team. This role requires both independent work and close collaboration with design and integration engineers. The ideal candidate is adept at building prototype harnesses and meticulously documenting all activities to ensure traceability, repeatability, and compliance with quality standards. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented R&D Harness Assembly Technician to facilitate electrical system development, integration, and documentation for our autonomous maritime platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies following drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.

  • Integrate harnesses into Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and Marine Unmanned Surface Vehicles (MUSVs), including installation in confined marine compartments, watertight enclosures, and externally mounted hardware.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine harness designs, lengths, routing, and termination specifications during prototyping and system deployment.

  • Solder and terminate connections to solder cup style connectors, including ODU and other high-density circular connectors.

  • Ensure robust electrical connections, proper shielding, environmental sealing, and strain relief in accordance with marine and defense standards.

  • Accurately document all build processes, revisions, rework, deviations, and configuration changes as per internal procedures.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining work instructions and configuration-controlled documentation.

  • Maintain an organized and safe workspace, including effective tool management and inventory tracking.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in harness assembly, ideally within R&D or prototyping settings.

  • Strong ability to read wiring schematics, connector tables, and mechanical routing drawings.

  • Proficiency in soldering to solder cup style connectors such as ODU or similar precision connectors.

  • Familiarity with military specification (MIL-spec) connectors (e.g., D38999), marine-rated cables, and environmental sealing methods.

  • Proven ability to document processes and maintain clear records of work performed.
