Role Summary
The Electrical Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all electrical installations and testing activities are executed in strict adherence to approved project specifications, electrical codes, quality protocols, and inspection criteria. This position requires rigorous daily site inspections, prompt identification of non-conformances, and thorough review of contractor submissions, ensuring that all electrical works align with the project's quality standards.
The inspector collaborates closely with the Quality Control (QC) Manager, electrical engineers, and contractors to uphold superior quality execution across all electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily site inspections to confirm electrical work progresses according to approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and specifications.
- Identify and report deficiencies, faults, and compliance issues related to electrical works to the QC Manager for immediate corrective actions.
- Finalize all Electrical Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) after verifying that all required documentation and approvals from relevant discipline engineers are completed.
- Thoroughly review and comprehend electrical specifications, drawings, Project Quality Plans (PQP), ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and related quality documents.
- Witness testing and inspection of electrical systems and materials (e.g., cables, switchgear, grounding, conduits, panels) and fill out associated forms in accordance with approved procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate contractor practices related to electrical quality and safety to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Facilitate daily coordination meetings with the contractor’s QC representative to ensure a comprehensive understanding of electrical quality management processes.
- Assist the construction team in addressing electrical quality issues and technical challenges.
- Support the Quality Manager in conducting quality audits related to electrical work.
- Compile daily QC reports and submit them to the QC Manager by 9:00 AM the following day.
- Ensure that all electrical testing tools and measuring devices possess valid calibration certificates.
- Maintain logs of electrical WIRs, MIRs, Material Approval Requests (MARs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and other quality documentation.
- Report any discipline-related miscoordination affecting electrical systems to the Resident Engineer and Quality Manager.
