Perform EMC/EMI emission and immunity testing on electrical systems and their components for both consumer and commercial applications. Read, interpret, and work from both free-form drawings and controlled documentation. Design and fabricate electro-mechanical assemblies, harnesses, and test fixtures based on conceptual drawings. Utilize equipment such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, power meters, high-power amplifiers, and oscilloscopes. Conduct measurements for antenna and shielding effectiveness. Independently verify results and document findings clearly and comprehensively. Troubleshoot complex issues with minimal supervision. Support engineers and test management in standardized testing and R&D projects. Maintain test equipment and facilities, overseeing the calibration process.

Role Overview: EMC/EMI Test Technician

This EMC/EMI Test Technician position is part of the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team in Bastrop, TX. The team focuses on the performance and reliability of avionics hardware used in SpaceX vehicles, including Dragon, Falcon, Starship, and the Human Landing System.

What You Will Do

Test and evaluate avionics hardware for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, integration, and mission operations teams.
